The Department of Trade and Industry published a Notice that the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) has introduced a new electronic filing channel for Company and Close Corporation forms. The electronic web-based portal is called Bizportal and is a platform developed by the CIPC to offer company registration and related services in a simple digital and paperless way. According to the portal, it was developed in response to the quest of improving the ease of doing business in South Africa, specifically, starting a business.
The services currently available on Bizportal are:
- Company Registrations
- Tax Registrations
- Domain Name Registration
- B-BBEE Certificates
- Compensation Fund (CF) Registration
- Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) Registration
- Business Bank Accounts
