Government Notice 1130 of 30 August 2019, published in a recent Government Gazette (No. 42677), amended dates in previous Government Notices (General Notice 142 of 18 March 2019 and Government Notice 1019 of 28 September 2018) which relate to provisions on the Ombud.
Government Notice 1130 has the following effect:
- The commencement date of Chapter 14 (sections 175 to 217) of the Financial Sector Regulation Act, which relates to Ombuds, has been delayed and will now take effect on 1 April 2020.
- The Financial Services Ombud Schemes Act which was due to be repealed on 1 September 2019 will now remain in force until 1 October 2020.
