The Key Individual (KI) in an FSP business is responsible for overseeing the conduct of all Representatives in the FSP including advice given to clients. Additionally, the KI is responsible for the FSP’s operational capabilities in accordance with FSCA licensing requirements and, therefore, plays a crucial role in obtaining and maintaining the licence of an FSP.
The role of the KI or a manager that fulfils a similar function in an FSP business is a significant one, and this KI Programme is intended to give the learner an in-depth understanding of the theory behind these day-to-day responsibilities as well as exposure to practical management scenarios.
About the Key Individual Programme
The Key Individual Programme is a specialised programme that will help you gain the understanding and skills needed to manage the day-to-day responsibilities of a Key Individual in an FSP and fulfil the duties of a KI as set out in the FAIS Act in a practical and efficient manner that ensures compliance with the Act, delivers good outcomes to customers and protects the FSP business against related risks.
This programme includes 9 modules and begins with an introductory self-analysis to identify the gaps in requirements to qualify as a KI. Each module has learning outcomes that set out what the learner will know and be able to do by the end of a module. Different learning formats are used across all modules, including online courses, live and recorded webinars that you need to complete, and you will receive access to supplementary resources in the form of legislation documentation, case studies and reading material. At the end of each module, the learner will complete an assessment to test their knowledge and understanding.
